This album is the fulfillment of a long-time dream. My first songs were written as an undergrad at Pomona College, after a friend approached me about forming a rock band. My influences included classical piano and songs I loved to listen to on the radio, from KROQ down the FM dial. Some years later, I started writing and performing again at Anaheim Public Library’s Open Mic Night. After meeting a local indie musician with a home studio, I decided it was the right time to record my first album, and my Open Mic co-host who happened to be a drummer soon became part of the project.
